I’m joining up with Jen at Conversion Diary today and sending her a huge congratulations on her book release!!!
Something Other Than God:
How I Passionately Sought Happiness and Accidentally Found It!
Thanks to Amy’s fabulous review, I pre-ordered and my copy arrived yesterday 🙂
The Family-First Creative has been downloaded to my Kindle and read! I really enjoyed the book and learned a ton. Just from the initial download, I learned that you can now email a pdf file to your kindle email address and it converts it into mobi format! Awesome! Jen has a lot of fantastic time/family management advice in these pages and also offers some insight into products that help make her life as a writer/Mom easier. She recommends using an application called Ever Note to simplify and organize ideas. I so need help in this area. I have note cards and post-its all over the house and was super excited to give this new program a try. The application lets you quickly and easily save notes, pictures, and audio to multiple computers/tablets/phones in a format easier to use than Drop Box. The best part for me is the ability to record audio as text, which keeps my hands free for my super wiggly nurser 🙂 I downloaded it to my phone and fell in love. Simple to use and navigate; Ever Note and I have began to form a solid relationship.

Sadly when downloading Ever Note to my PC it all started to go horribly, horribly wrong. I mean epic nightmarish! Downloading the app to my phone took less than 5 minutes- no problem. I opened the email to download it to my PC; problem! It would start the download process and stall…..so……because I was having trouble downloading it from the official site I did something really, really, really stupid. Really stupid. I downloaded Ever Note from a third party provider. So…..along with the Ever Note download (which thank goodness does work very well) came EVIL, EVIL malware 🙁 Fortunately, 5 hours and some tears later I was able to remove it. Always, ALWAYS pay attention to where you are downloading from and what the download boxes are asking your permission to include in the download before automatically checking the Next box during installation. In other words, Don’t Install New Software On Your Computer While Feeding a Toddler and Holding an Infant! Not one of my finer moments…..sigh. The good news is now Ever Note is functioning beautifully on my computer and phone and I love it! My brainstorming is being recorded in type instead of the random notebooks, note cards, and other scraps of paper I have laying around the house! I feel so modern! Success 🙂 Whew!
The malware that I downloaded with Ever Note was Mobogenie. Should you ever be unfortunate enough to end up with Mobogenie on your computer immediately read this article by Stelian Pilici of www.malwaretips.com Awesome save! Once I completed all the steps for uninstalling Mobogenie I realized there was yet, another type of malware on my computer called “Ads by Rr savings.” 🙁 These ads were more than just annoying, they were so overwhelming they actually rendered the use of amazon.com impossible! I cannot live this way. Amazon Prime is how our house functions. Fortunately, malwaretips.com had an article on that too and best I can tell my computer and I are back up and running again. AMEN!
This past week has been unseasonably warm with lots of rain. My Itty Bitty absolutely adores playing in the water. Here are some shots of our water table fun this week 🙂
If anyone has any leads on toddler galoshes/umbrella/raincoat featuring either turtles or ladybugs please by all means comment and let me know! We are on the hunt 🙂
Instagram is besting me! I want to start sharing pictures via this medium, but have yet to figure out the best way to do this. The camera on my phone is not my friend….lol It seems pointless to share a bunch of blurry shots of fuzzy critters and children 🙁 I am looking for a camera that would allow me to take a point and shoot shot and then upload them directly to Instagram/FaceBook. I found a work around for uploading pictures from email or dropbox from my tablet, but that seems like cheating and more work. I also tried a program called Blue Stacks which indicates it can send photos from your desktop to Instagram, but it won’t load correctly on my computer….sigh. Ideas?
We had a showing today on the house I owned before we got married. The prospective buyers are talking potential financial arrangements and are coming for a second look tomorrow. Calling all prayer warriors: Please send up some prayers that they are able to make us an offer. Selling that house would make an enormous difference in our lives.
I’m not sure why I find the nursery rhyme, “Wise Men of Gotham,” recorded in Mother Goose so amusing, but Itty Bitty and I have been giggling over it all week. Turns out this rhyme is based on the people of a town known as Gotham. Reportedly King John required any road upon which he traveled to be made into a public road. The people of Gotham rejected this request indirectly by playing fools whenever the king’s men would approach. As a result the king declined further travel into Gotham and the seemingly simple people of Gotham got their wish!
Washington Irving even used Gotham as a nickname for New York City. Batman fan? You too probably recognize the name Gotham. This poem greatly influenced the comic book setting. The Joker even performs this exact rhyme in a DC Comic, “The Batman of Arkham.” And here I just thought it was a humorous ditty. If I could find a book on the history of Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes I suspect I would learn a lot 🙂

Hi Kayla! Thanks for coming to visit 🙂 I had no idea Ever Note even existed – what a great find!
