I’m linking up with Jen at Conversion Diary today. If you haven’t picked up her book: Something Other Than God: How I Passionately Sought Happiness and Accidentally Found It! I encourage you to do so. This may honestly be the first entertaining conversion story that I have ever read 🙂
Stepping Outside to Pray
Although outdoor sacraments are often frowned upon in the Catholic church (just try to get married outside – my husband and I can tell you all about it), I always feel closer to God when I’m surrounded by beauty crafted by His hand alone. Twice a year, our priest, Father Chris, steps outside the parish wooden doors to celebrate an outdoor mass. This is truly one of my favorite celebrations. Keeping the toddler reigned in during the service was challenging and there was at least one moment of close escape to the front of the congregation. Thank you to everyone seated around me for smiling, understanding, and enjoying my little one’s excitement!
Priests have Momma’s too
This past Sunday, Father Chris opened and blessed a new addition to SATG – a beautiful and well designed playground for the children in the parish. The playground was built with monies collected in honor of his mother’s passing. His father had the idea for the playground and was present to witness the jungle gym come alive at the touch of little hands!
Such an unforgettable moment……plus it’s not everyday you see a priest and two deacons bless and sprinkle holy water on a playground.
The children of the congregation bowed their heads and offered up a hearty Amen right alongside their proud parents – the sweetest sound you’ll ever hear. Father Chris you did your Mama proud!!!!!
May 30th
We had three offers on the house!!!! Three!!!!! Just last year this same house sat on the market untouched for over a year. We are so grateful and thrilled. Thank you to each and everyone of you who said a little extra prayer – God heard! The offer we accepted is pending a house inspection and the expected closing date is set for May 30th. Folks this is a major game changer for our family – think no more paying two mortgages each month!!! Please keep us in your prayers as we approach the finale of this earthly challenge and pray for the new family that is hopefully (fingers crossed) moving in to their new home in under a month!
Lady Bug Love for Sewer Repair
So many lessons in contentment and happiness can be learned from our children. The sewer system has to be redone right outside the front of our house. Multiple holes and piles of rubble pepper the front yard and driveway. Trash collectors are unable to collect. The construction noises shake the entire house starting at 7 AM and continuing through both little ones’ nap times. Water restriction is in effect and Lady Bug……..well, mostly she’s just excited to see all the cool new machines and meet the eclectic characters that make them go, go, go! Love her!

MOPS
MOPS is the acronym for a Christian based Momma’s Group. MOPS stands for mothers of preschoolers. I attended a MOPS meeting for the first time Thursday. I had heard about MOPS from multiple sources including Elizabeth at Watch Me Homeschool and had found mention of them as being an awesome support in two books I reviewed for Prey Species: Mom Seeks God and The Christian Mama’s Guide to Baby’s First Year. My experience was a good one. I met some truly wonderful and supportive ladies and I even made a craft. I’m pretty uncrafty, seriously!!! My stick figures are curved! lol So I’m pretty happy with how it turned out
Parenting is Hilarious
If you doubt the truth of these words just watch me do the super duper happy dance because my daughter went pee pee in the potty! There is even a theme song…pee pee in the potty, pee pee in the potty……..I’m so proud of my little Lady Bug! I haven’t read the potty training book yet; it’s sitting on my night stand. I haven’t bought her any new panties. Apparently, just like with everything else this little girl does, she’s going to do it her way and on her time table. We – the parental units – are just along for the ride….lol Wish us luck!
