Life On Record is an easy, centralized system for commemorating a special event for a loved one. Individuals are able to call in and leave personalized messages of encouragement and love in their own voice. This is a fantastic gift for birthdays, weddings, graduations, etc. Our family planned to use the system to celebrate my mother’s retirement after over 30 years of serving others in the health care industry. The recordings would have provided her with messages from family, friends, and patients who are forever grateful to her for her time in practice! My family and I still think this is a great idea, but life happens and while we were in the process of celebrating my mother’s retirement she became a Grandma! So…..our CD is now an amazing compilation of voices from loved ones wishing our newest family member good tidings!
Creating the CD is so easy and clearly can be organized even with a newborn in your midst 🙂 The organizer simply provides a phone number for loved ones to call and they record their stories to be included in the CD, anytime and from anywhere. The messages are then compiled and can be organized and listened to via the Internet, a mp3 player, or iTunes. The recordings can also be accessed via the phone or downloaded onto a CD.
Life on Record really does try to make it easy. They provide a toll-free phone number that can be distributed to family and friends and even provide a sample script to help you set up an introductory greeting. They also provide a pre-formatted communication for friends and family that provides instructions that can be shared via an email, verbally, or even via FaceBook. As recordings are received you have the ability to listen to the messages, place them in an order you prefer, and delete any that you would like to exclude. Step by step instructions are provided on how to make your own CD, which is what we chose to do or you can also request they send you a CD.
Admittedly, you could try to compile the messages from friends and family on a voicemail machine or recording device, but this is so much simpler. Editing is done online and folks can call on their schedule from wherever they happen to be located. The cost is $49.99 for the service and the ability to use your own CDs using the free iTunes integration. CD sets, including all recordings packaged together in a metal, windowed case can be purchased for $24.99. Additional CD sets are $19.99 and shipping is free.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
