(Hi there! Be sure to scroll down for a chance to win your very own copy of “Whatever Wanda.”
“Whatever Wanda” gives kids a chance to see the difference that their attitude can make in having fun and enjoying life. The book also gives families a wonderful opportunity to discuss the importance of being positive and reinforces that having a good attitude is a choice. Wanda doesn’t have a chance to really enjoy the same activities that her friends, Wanda and Marvin are able to enjoy, until she is able to approach the day with positivity and a smile.
My daughter was especially happy to see her old friends, Willow of “Can’t Wait Willow” and Marvin of “Must-Have Marvin” featured in this book. She enjoyed the plot about the yellow duck race, but I believe she may have benefited from the main character having a positive attitude a little earlier in the book. Ladybug at 2 1/2 years of age loves “Can’t Wait Willow,” also by Christy Zigler and part of the Shine Bright Kids series. She especially liked the book cover of “Can’t Wait Willow,” which had some raised glitter embossing, which is absent on this book. This is a nice hardcover book and is geared towards kids that are aged 4 – 10, which seems to be an accurate assessment of age appropriateness. Visit Shine Bright Kids online for more information on “Whatever Wanda,” “Must-Have Martin,” and “Can’t Wait Willow.”

From the Publisher:
The third title in the Shine Bright Kids series, Whatever Wanda! teaches children the importance of having a good attitude. Wanda is in serious need of an attitude adjustment! She doesn’t want to accompany her family to the Rubber Duck Days Festival, and once there, she won’t participate in any of the events or join in with her friends. Soon Wanda receives some helpful advice and learns that:
‘Sometimes you have to believe something will be great before it actually is. Being positive is a choice that makes everything better, not to mention, a whole lot more fun!’
