This month Mother Goose Time is taking us Down on the Farm!
We’re looking forward to learning about farm animals, being in the barn, trying some farming, and eating farm food.
The kids and I are really looking forward to all the monthly themes for 2016-2017!
Daily Child Projects
“Down on the Farm” is jam packed with wonderful projects including several invitations to create and make and play activities.
We’ll be creating with feathers, hay, and mud. We’ll be playing with sheep and eggs. We also get to grow a bean and visit a farmer’s market.
A quick pictorial overview of the daily projects and art included in this month is shown below. Follow us on Instagram and Facebook to see the finished projects š
Calendar and Daily Activities
Making wheat bread, playing “Knock, Knock Cow,” and measuring a beanstalk are just a few of the fun activities we are looking forward to this month.
The included story of the month is “There’s a Cow in My House,” by Brian Steckler and illustrated by Chris Lensch.
We also have a whole new list of suggested books and outdoor and STEAM inspired play ideas.
We’ll be sure to share some of our favorites on Facebook and Instagram!
Manipulatives
Each month comes with thematic manipulatives. This month, cow counters and stick links are included.
These manipulatives are used in several of the Mother Goose Time activities and we are most looking forward to using them for sorting activities and playing games that develop our phonics with regards to the letters, “c” and “h.”
