My kids are active little beings who thrive on plenty of time outside.
All that running, playing, crafting, building, and exploring are critical for developing healthy brains and bodies.
Many preschool programs have designated time to spend outside both in free and structured play.
In this regard our preschool curriculum, Mother Goose Time is no different.
Mother Goose Time Encourages Time Outside
Unlike some of the preschool programs we have researched or tried, Mother Goose Time also has tons of activities that are either meant to be outdoors or are incredibly easy to convert to outdoor activities.
We have completed tons of scavenger hunts, games, and other activities, while enjoying the outdoors.
Alphabet Scavenger Hunt
Canteen Counting Game
Creating Nature Designs
Outside Discovery
New this year, Mother Goose Time is also including an “Outside Discovery” investigation station activity each week.
The purpose of “Outside Discovery” is to reinforce STEAM skill sets while enjoying the outdoors.
The activities build upon the concepts specific to a monthly theme and rely heavily on nature items and the outside.
For instance, the theme this month is “My Amazing Body.”
The first week we are creating chalk tracings and adorning them with a variety of leaves, sticks, and flowers.
This following week we are finding a variety of outdoor items to create different sounds.
Getting Outside with Mother Goose Time
While “Outside Discovery” stations are new this year, Mother Goose Time has a long history of getting us outdoors.
We have spent tons of time outdoors creating artwork, playing games, and conducting science experiments.
