My daughter spilled India Ink all over my kitchen floor this morning. ALL OVER! In the middle of gathering cleaning supplies, my one year old walked through it, sending my five year old into a fit of giggles. Meanwhile my three year old hollered from the bathroom that he was all out of toilet paper. Well, son that’s what happens when you use the entire roll for one wipe!

So, when I sat down today to let you know about Pam Barnhill’s newest online course I wanted to let you know that you can do it! You can do it with potty training toddlers. You can do it with spilled art supplies and hysterical preschoolers. You can do it the midst of accidents and unforeseen circumstances. You can do it, I can do it, and Pam can help.
Pam’s planning tools don’t help you plan the perfect homeschool day. Pam’s focus is on helping you plan for all the days that are going to surprise you. Some days are going to be awesome in ways you never saw coming; the read aloud you can’t put down, the unexpected friends meetup, or the Fall walk at the state park that no one wants to end. Other days are going to be India Ink days.

Either way, Pam has you covered! In “Put Your Homeschool Year On Autopilot,” Pam guides you through the process of creating a customized plan that is flexible and resilient enough to see your family over the speed bumps and still allow for the scenic detours we don’t want to miss.
Now, I’m not saying that it’s easy or that your coffee won’t get cold. I am saying that “Put Your Homeschool Year On Autopilot” may be the fuel you need to keep your homeschool year on track!
Is Autopilot right for you?

If you homeschool and you haven’t met Pam Barnhill, you are missing out on a very valuable resource! Pam doesn’t just create a homeschool planner or an organizer. Innovative Loops Bonus Module – Limited Time Only (ends June 21st)!

Friends, I love this module! My kids are into all the things and it can get pretty overwhelming really fast. This bonus module gave me so many new ideas I cannot wait to implement.
Loop scheduling is one of my favorite planning methods for managing multiple kids with multiple needs. Truth? I even have a loop schedule for myself and all the awesome adulting I dream of doing! You have to start one small step at a time, right? This works! I highly recommend learning all you can about loops and this is a great place to start. It’s only available for those of us who purchase Autopilot by June 21st, so act now! It’s worth it, I promise.
Why loop scheduling?

When I first started homeschooling I wanted so badly to do ALL the SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS and ALL the ART PROJECTS, and all the HANDS ON HISTORY, and ALL the HANDIWORK and ALL the COOKING. I was feeling defeated within the first week. It’s so hard my friends when you want your kids to have it all, but you just can’t do it all!
I was stretching myself and them way too thin. Now, don’t get me wrong I love the hands on stuff, at least in theory, but balancing a baby that sounded more like an enraged pterodactyl on my hip, while telling the toddler to get the paintbrush out of his mouth is not my idea of a good time.
I realized that although I placed a high value on Mom intensive projects, my patience and my sanity just couldn’t take anymore. Loop schedules rescued me and all the wonderful messy parts of my homeschool. With loop schedules we are still doing it all. Yes, all! We just don’t do them every week. Everything that is messy or requires more focus than I can give with an awake baby goes on a loop. Then when Dad or Grandma have the baby, the older kids and I get to do these amazing activities just the way I always imagined.
Pam also included a little something extra with this loop, friends. We can make our very own customized bookmarks featuring our loop! OK, so you can also make other printables and cards with the templates, but you guys, bookmarks!!! Joy!
How does Autopilot work?

Put Your Homeschool Year on Autopilot Course
Within each of the eleven online modules you are given a chance to listen to Pam as she guides you through the course. You can download the course slides and a workbook. The workbook includes action items, space for note taking, and the video transcript for later review. With four kids singing Broadway show tunes at the top of their lungs in my living room, this feature has been a Godsend!
Forms and Planner Pages

Here’s a screen shot of me filling out a planning form within the online course!
Any forms and planner pages Pam describes in the module are linked right at the bottom of the page. You can open them and edit them right there on your computer as Pam guides you through best practices. In some areas there are also “extras.” For instance, the “Subjects and Resources” module has this awesome extra sheet focusing on “Skill Area Considerations.” I can’t tell you how much grief this saved me when it came time to finalize my decision about math curriculum.
Discussion and Online Community

Perhaps the most valuable part of “Put Your Homeschool Year On Autopilot” is the chance to ask questions and talk to other homeschool Moms. A link to “Discuss this lesson” is included in each module, which navigates to an online forum where questions are encouraged and dedicated monitors make sure everyone’s concerns and needs are addressed. It is so reassuring to be able to “phone a friend” when I’m confused or even when I just need a little encouragement to keep going!

What about Plan Your Year?

In a recent post, I gushed about a book by Pam Barnhill, Plan Your Year! I love this guide and highly recommend the purchase of Plan Your Year for all new homeschool families. Plan Your Year is available for purchase on Amazon and via Pam Barnhill’s website.
Much of the material between Plan Your Year and “Autopilot” is similar. The format is drastically different. I would also dare say that if you purchased both you would gain something new from each product. That has been the case for me as I have completed both Plan Your Year and “Put Your Homeschool Year on Autopilot” in the past month.
Plan Your Year has a lot more philosophy and idea generation for ways you could go about homeschooling. “Put Your Homeschool Year on Autopilot” is the no frills, let’s get this done so we can go about enjoying life version. It was very helpful to pull up the forms and ask questions and walk away with a plan at the completion of the online course, “Put Your Homeschool Year on Autopilot.”
Just How Does Pam Help?

She’s going to make sure that when your toddler wraps himself in an entire roll of toilet paper your entire homeschool day doesn’t get derailed. She’s going to make sure you walk away from this course with a plan that fits the needs of your family and she’s willing to hold your hand every step of the way.
She isn’t going to teach you how to use a planner, she’s going to show you how to make your own plans and customize your own homeschool like you’ve always dreamed of doing! You just don’t have to start from scratch. Pam streamlines this process and moves you past all those annoying roadblocks like curricula overwhelm and not enough hours in the day. You can do this! Pam can help!
