Confession?
I’ve had a crush on Bon Jovi since I was a teenager. He could sing, he was sexy, and he had his own band! These things are all still true! Recently I learned that he is still married to the same woman he exchanged vows with straight out of high school! Their union is reportedly strong and they have been blessed with beautiful children. Truthfully, this did nothing to diminish my crush. How amazing in this day and age for a rock legend to be faithful and true for so many years! So, when I learned that Jammy Jams had created lullaby music based on hair metal bands including Bon Jovi, I was delighted to have something familiar and comforting to rock my newborn and toddler to sleep. Truthfully, there was only so much more “Hush Little Baby” and “Kumbaya” I could take!
Hair Metal Goes Lullaby includes instrumental versions of the following songs:
1. Every Rose Has Its Thorn (originally by Poison)
2. Gypsy Road (originally by Cinderella)
3. Home Sweet Home (originally by Mötley Crüe)
4. I Remember You (originally by Skid Row)
5. Lay It Down (originally by Ratt)
6. Honestly (originally by Stryper)
7. Livin’ On A Prayer (originally by Bon Jovi)
8. Dream Warriors (originally by Dokken)
9. Jet City Women (originally by Queensrÿche)
10. Here I Go Again (originally by Whitesnake)
I am, of course, partial to “Livin’ On A Prayer,” but “I Remember You” and “Here I Go Again” are also awesome! The melody of the songs is immediately recognizable to those of us familiar with the tunes, but the instruments and soft percussion utilized to create the music are comforting and soothing to both baby and Momma. Daddy is also pretty pleased to have an alternative to the constant drone of nursery rhymes. If you’re a child of the 80s or just wanted to be and have little ones that need to be rocked to sleep this is a perfect choice!

Jammy Jams offers hip-hop, rock, and pop inspired lullabies. One of their upcoming releases called Little Headbangers (Hair Metal Goes Lullaby Vol. 2) features Def Leopard, another absolute favorite of mine! These compilations make fantastic, unique gifts for new parents and are a welcome reprieve from the repetition of many more traditional lullaby albums.
