BzzAgent was kind enough to provide me with free samples of MAGGI® SO JUICY™ in exchange for my honest review.
MAGGI® SO JUICY™ is a cooking bag solution that makes it easy to spice up chicken with little mess and fuss. The process of making the chicken is very simple and quick with minimal handling of raw meat; which is a huge help when you have a one year old toddling around in the kitchen. The product is offered in four delicious flavors:
Italian Countryside Herb Blend (my favorite!)
- Savory Garlic & Tomato with a Hint of Chili (my husband’s absolute favorite!)
- Mediterranean Herb Medley with Rosemary (my mother’s favorite!)
- Rustic Tomato & Paprika (Itty Bitty’s favorite!)
All the options are delicious, but as is often the case, each family member has a different favorite!
The process is pretty simple. The bag comes with two separate “open here” dotted lines. The first line opens the top of the bag and gives you access to the cooking bag, which is folded up into a square. Also included is a little red tie that is used to close the bag during cooking. Fair warning: the first time I opened up the bag, I threw the little red closure tie away. Whoops!

You simply place the chicken inside the bag and then sprinkle the seasoning on top of the chicken breasts. The seasoning is enclosed in the second, bottom portion of the bag. The directions claim that you can fit either 4 or 8 chicken breasts in the bag. I was easily able to fit in 4 good size breasts, but don’t think that 8 would work all that well unless they were very small. I think that using 8 chicken breasts would make it difficult to shut the bag. I was able to add in some chopped up vegetables that cooked up nicely in the seasoning along with the chicken. Then use the enclosed red tie to secure the bag, place in a oven-safe dish and bake.
Additional warning: the bag does inflate during cooking (as seen in the image below), so make sure that you place the chicken on the bottom rack and remove the upper rack to avoid any unnecessary cooking complications!
The chicken takes about an hour to cook and really does turn out tender and delicious! The hubby was a huge fan and our one year old ate the chicken as well; a feat typically only accomplished with use of a crock pot! MAGGI® SO JUICY™ is available at The Kroger Co. Family of Stores and has a suggested retail price of $1.79.
