This month Mother Goose Time is headed to The Science Lab! I’m in my happy place 🙂 We’re looking forward to exploring the chemistry lab, physics lab, engineering lab, and biology lab. The beginning of the traditional school year is just around the corner. Here are the new Mother Goose Time themes for 2016-2017. Which ones excite you and your kids most?
Daily Child Projects
“The Science Lab” is jam packed with wonderful, child friendly projects. We’ll be exploring states of matter, demonstrating gravity, building parachutes, and learning about animal adaptations. A quick pictorial overview of the projects included in this month is shown below. Make sure to follow along with us Instagram to see the projects in action 🙂
Calendar and Daily Activities
Invisible ink, sound shakers, and blood cell bracelet are just a few of the fun activities we are looking forward to this month. The included story of the month is “Ingenuity!,” by Leslie Falconer and Michael Kanie, and illustrated by Chris Lensch. We also have a whole new list of suggested books and outdoor and free play ideas. We’ll be sure to share some of our favorites on Facebook!
Each month comes with thematic manipulatives. This month, beakers and nuts and bolts are included. These manipulatives are used in several of the Mother Goose Time activities and we are most looking forward to using them for using them for “missing bolt mystery” and inventing new colors.
We will also be focusing on the following concepts:
- Color – Complete Review
- Shape – Complete Review
- Friendship Trait – Review
- Pattern – A, B, C
- Letters – A – Z Review
- Sight Words – Review
- Numbers – 1-20 Review
This month also includes a celebration kit focusing on a Family Picnic. We’ll be creating a picnic arts craft, playing a “What is Missing?” game, and making an apple sandwich snack. There is also a “Marching Ants Game” which looks like a lot of fun.
We will also be learning about “The Miracles of Jesus” with “God Is The Healer,” from Experience God (Christian curriculum add-on). The toddler is always included thanks to the Little Goose Program (toddler supplement). We hope you’ll join us on our adventures as we learn all about “The Science Lab!”
